Let Captain Jim Maya (the bold, safe, caring, skilled, humorous, handsome, courageous, and very modest retired school teacher and lifelong naturalist) take you out on the brand new 26 foot Glacier Bay catamaran The Peregrine.

Orca whales are often seen close to San Juan Island. And the best place to catch the boat to see them is Snug Harbor. Snug Harbor is home to the Center for Whale Research vessels and the Whale Museum's Soundwatch program. Whale Watch Park, just a couple of miles south of the Resort is ideal for land based observations.

On our trips we also see many other marine mammals. There are seals, sea lions, porpoise and otters. You can observe hawks, bald eagles and diving birds. We often see them all on a single trip!

Where whales feed, eagles are often nearby. Hardly a day goes by without spotting our nation's symbol of freedom, the bald eagle.
